I wanted to let you know that "The Pirates: In an Adventure with Scientists" is a VERY funny book that is worth reading. It's part of a series written by Gideon Defoe (my favorite is "The Pirates: In an Adventure with Communists"). It's nice to see that Pirate Captain's prized ham will be a part of the movie, that's probably the forthcoming movie I'm most excited about. There are 4 books and they are all pretty funny and definitely worth a read, especially if you're into absurd British humor (or as the British say "humour.")

I enjoyed the episode, but it begs the question: When are we going to get a true crossover and hear the Eat, Sleep, Comics/Strange Ink guys talk about the greatest comic book movies of all time?

Really nice to hear you guys give some love to the golden and silver-age creators on the show. I spent a long time chatting with Allen Bellman at a con earlier this year, he worked on a bunch of comics in the 40s, including backgrounds for Captain America, and it was really neat to stand there and chat with a guy who'd been in the industry that long ago. I got an AWESOME sketch from him that remains one of my favorites.

I was shocked at the difference between the line for J. Scott Campbell and and Joe Kubert at the Boston Con this year (I'm not singling out Hughes or anything, their tables just happened to be near one another's). People should definitely check out the tables of the long-time industry pros.

Agreed. And the more we talk about this the more I think: "screw those people! If they want to read comics they'll find 'em anyway! Why do we have to cater something I already LIKE to a bunch of people who clearly DON'T like them to begin with!"

I've been enjoying the DC discussions on the show. I'm a little concerned about it for two reasons. In the past year or so I've asked my shop to set aside four different DC titles and it's the first time I've subscribed to anything DC, now three of them are canceled and the one I've enjoyed the most (Batgirl) isn't even going to be part of the universe anymore.

I also think that (and maybe this is my own hangup) whenever I hear that a company is going to make their character more "edgy" or "try to appeal to a younger demographic" I just think about the "Itchy, Scratchy, and Poochie Show" episode of the Simpsons. It's a little disconcerting because when a company wants to appeal to a different demographic they're basically telling their current fans that they are breaking up and looking for someone younger.

i totally agree spiderman 3 was the wose ever! i hope the reboot will be better. but by far chris nolans batman series is the best comic book adaptation.
